Knots Made Easy!

Have you tried your hand at the art of knot tying and found it harder than it looks? If you are tired of watching dark, out-of-focus, bad audio, poorly explained videos (or worse, just pictures or line drawings... YIKES!) then you've come to the right place!

High Definition Video!

All lectures in this course are presented in high-definition video and digital stereo audio. All knots are tied FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF THE PERSON DOING THE TYING. No more trying to figure out how what you see on the screen matches what you see in front of you! With our approach, your hands can follow along and match the presenter's. Pause the video at anytime if you get stuck and you'll easily be able to see if you're on the right track.

Beginner with no experience? No problem! Our advanced course starts at the very beginning so you're sure to get a solid foundation before you progress to the more advanced topics.

Left handed? No problem! Where "handedness" is an issue, knots are tied from both a right and left-handed perspective.

40+ topics presented in 7+ hours of video!

Above all else, we want you to learn how to master this skill (after all... we already know how :). We do that by taking a very methodical approach to presenting each knot in a detailed fashion, from different angles and perspectives, to help you fully understand each knot rather than just trying to memorize hand and rope movements.

BUT WAIT! Tying knots is only a part of the story if you want to master this craft. What kind of rope should you use? How should you care for and store your rope? What about carabiners and webbing? These topics are all covered in detail in separate lectures.

Jeff has a unique and thorough teaching style (OK... maybe a little OCD at times). In his day job he works as a software engineer and enjoys reducing complex and difficult topics into more manageable chunks which are easier to learn. He is a Washington state CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) member and believes knots (and a ton of other things) are an important part of personal disaster preparedness.
